Such a good shave with the Enoch this morning. It delivers on feel, shave and performance. The finishes it gives are close and comfortable without using zen like concentration to achieve one’s main goal. A clean shaven face that the shave gods would approve of and the Misses surely appreciates....

It has taken a while, but I am now happy that I can load a blade properly without too much hassle. I am now getting used to the required cutting angle which is more off the guard than off the head. The Shave was incredibly smooth and forgiving with a Proguard blade, probably the best finish attained with the Razor so far. As I get more proficient with the Razor, I may well retry the use of a Schick Proline blade or even a Feather Pro. This is a quite a light Razor, and may suit those after a S/S-AC/SE.

Sun 19th April.
Now I have had a few more Shaves with the Enoch I am now getting consistently good Shaves, the downsides is that with a guarded blade Shave Time seems rather long. Today I took the plunge and used a Feather Pro, proved to be smooth and efficient but not overly aggressive. The Shave Time greatly reduced, and the quality of the finished Shave excellent even around the neck. I think in the future I will be using it more but unlikely to replace the Oren or Hiram as my favourite Occams.

Used one of the best surprises and overall a top 3 AC SE shaver to come out in’19. The Enoch has never failed to give me smooth, efficient performing shaves. Choose your blade, lock it down and you’re off to the races. I have a nice collection of SE’s but, the Enoch has been getting more and more attention as of late. Works with any blade you use (I can’t speak of the guarded ones but, I’ll assume they’ll work too) and it shaves with a comforting authority. Can it bite? Yes, if you’re a bit on the careless/lackadaisical side of your shave regimen but, that goes for just about 98% of all razors out there. Zen like concentration is not needed. Just a good methodical approach and as we say in the shave game “let the razor do the work”. Perhaps just a tiny bit more attention is required compared to the Blackland Vector or SS General. But, it will reward you with as good a shave as those 2 aforementioned stalwarts if not better. It’s significantly lower in cost if one is looking for a sub $100 AC SE razor ($99 US gets you into the club for the Enoch) with an alloy that matches in terms of durability. Quality has been quite good and fitment is up there as well. Perhaps if the blade holder studs were a bit more pronounced it would make it easier to install the blade but, that’s just nitpicking on my part. Overall it’s a good value in price/performance ratio.

I do have the Razorock Hawk V3-A on order and am looking forward to comparing that razor with the Enoch. Certainly in price the V3 Hawk has the Enoch but, we’ll see how it goes in the whisker reducing department in a few. For now though, the Enoch is a razor to be reckoned with....

Recently I have been using the Enoch for Daily Shaves, having found out that it really performs very well for me with a Schick Proline Blade.I seem to have got the right feel for the Razor, and have no problems getting trouble free quality Shaves with it every time.

Reviving an old thread but does anyone know if the DE and Enoch will be restocked? All has gone quiet it seems.

Almost 4 years have gone and it still is an excellent shaver. With a Feather pro installed this morning, it’s an executioner of whiskers of the highest order yet still maintains a smoothness and civility to its overall shave performance. One of the best deals ever in an AC razor tool and great shaving implement as well. Too bad they are no longer made. Would have loved to have seen this razor progress further in its development.

You are a lot more tolerant than I, or have received a very different razor: mine arrived with a bent safety bar, which was replaced, but the razor appears to be made from cheese painted to look like metal rather than real metal as it’s so soft. And then in use the handle needs to be practically flat to the face in order to get the blade to cut, it’s awkward and made some areas difficult to shave (the neck when found atg).

Shame because it could have been so good.

That's a bummer. Did you ever contact Classic Shaving/Luke Webster to see if they could have or should have attempted to resolve your issue with the Enoch?

Yes - they sent me a replacement base plate but it was still made of what I would consider sub-standard metal and the safety bar wasn't perfect on that one either. I straightened the safety bar myself with a pair of small precision pliers with very little force - that's how soft it is, and both base plates required the same angle so I assumed that's the design.

I can't remember the exact chain of events getting the replacement baseplate but I seem to remember Luke was responsive I was just disappointed with the design and material of my razor.

The Enoch & some face freezing nirvana by Stirling. Smooth operator is the Enoch with a KAI Pink Mild blade on its first use. Two passes and a minor touch up on the chin and it was a BBS result with a wonderful cooling and refreshing finish from the Stirling Witch Hazel & splash.

The Yuengling was there for back up purposes just in case me parched throat needed soothing during this most heated of days. It was finished quickly once the shave was done. I might have taken a sip or two beforehand but, it was negligible… :wink:
