1 blade 1 shave is putting me off.

Especially as I got an amazing shave from my General Aluminium with a Feather Pro (and I'll get at least another 10 shaves from the same blade.)

Nice looking razor though.
I hear you. But I noticed on their website, that for both razors [the high-end steel as well as this latest, polymer version] they softened their recommendation on blade usage. If my memory serves me correctly, they once recommended 1 shave per Feather FHS-10 blade. Now they are recommending 1-3 shaves per blade. That seems much more practical and reasonable. From what I've read on forums, users were already stretching their usage beyond the previously recommended one shave per blade anyway. But this recommended blade usage revision is a nice adjustment by OneBlade.

Granted, it's not 10 shaves, but better than only one.

Why I read this Thread?
I ve tried a V1 few mounths ago.
Good shave but expansive and less "charm" than my ôther DE / SE.
And now I read this Thread.
And I put à oneblade in my basket.
And my wife will ask me "why an other Razor?"
What should I say?
Because I have only 5 razors and it's less than my 15 soaps or 6 brushes or 10 AS?

Soaps, razors, and creams may be region-specific, but the lamenting of wives is universal.

Oneblade Core coud be worth trying based on many good reviews on the real Oneblade but the price of blades is "annoying". Okay, they are still much cheaper than Gillette cartridge blades but I will stick to my DE razors and blades still :peekaboo:.

Yep they changed this several months back. I am easily getting 4-5 shaves from a Feather blade. The second shave being the smoothest.

Really enjoy using my OB. I initially didn't appreciate it during the pass around. It certainly needs a different technique as opposed to a fixed head DE/SE. Strangely I returned to the OB yesterday and found it difficult to use again. If used consecutively I understand the razor better and get better shaves. Still early days and need to fully learn and memorise the best approach.

Really looking forward to the OB Core. Late to the game on this. If it's great will order the Genesis as well.

.70 cents: Feathers vs $2.75: Gillette Fusion Proglide (ebay)

I don't see the cost of the Feather blades a problem at all.

I agree with you, I reckon using the OB four times a week and tossing the blade after two, three pass shaves the cost in blades is around $50 a year.

I'm really enjoying the genesis with a FHS blade thank you @halvor for selling me this. What I have found (and I hope I don't come across as being thick) is due to switching from. DE, SE, straights and then the one blade, it is difficult to appreciate how to learn the razor. Yes by the 2nd or 3rd time you appreciate one must rode the pivot. But the amount of pressure required for different portions of the face varies for me. Throw in the sharpness of blade and one stays on the side of caution. Which in retrospect can provide more irritation as the blade is more angled as opposed to lying flatter on the face.
If is use the oneblade a few times the shaves are immense. In rotation every now and again doesn't provide the same results.

Definitely a keeper and hoping with more use (only had 6 uses) I will fully appreciate the razor, so I can pick it up randomly and like with a fixed head observe a great shave each time.

Just got an email from OneBlade apologising for not sending my razor on the 9th June as they intended, now to be sent by tomorrow via expedited service, but I am assuming it will still be 2-3 days later than expected as there was only one international shipping option.:(

Mate you head the nail on the head prolonged continuous use is where you make the gains and you will get to the unconscious competent stage where you just shave and the razor is amazing each shave. Had my OB Genesis over 8 months and i'm shaving like its an extension to my hand now. I'll be honest its got elements of my carts, my DE, my FAC SE and my shavette. Having used all those types of razors has given me the raw ability to shave naturally with the OB

Received my shipping notification last night, not sure how long it will take to get to the UK especially as it will be passing through the dreaded customs centre at Langley. Post seems to be USPS and not Fedex so hopefully less surcharges, I believe Fedex charge a minimum of £12 irrespective of what the actual value is.
