Yaqi More Info & Discussion

I open the thread to give some info:

After some research I did I found that Yaqi is one of the companies Wolf Whiskers but also other vendors get their knots from..

Chen, who runs Yaqi Factory Store is a great guy who totally respects his customers.
I know cases that he sent a brand new brush to many people who had some QC problems with their brush,without problem.
He personally refunds people who didn't receive in a specific time their products even if it is not his fault.

After all this I'm more than happy to give Yaqi my business and buy more brushes from them.

Ah lol, might be taken at the factory or something? All my dealings with Yaqi (which did include one dispute) were with Grace Chen who as far as I could tell is their primary English language representative.

Not that it matters really, just me being anal. As you say, they are good brushes at great prices with better than average customer service.. You cant go wrong

I like Yaqi handles but the knots I own aren't the best to be honest. Large glue bump and doughnut a lot. I have Tuxedo and Timber Wolf knots, both express the same issues. I think I bought both when Yaqi first appeared. I could be wrong but think both were under £15 delivered bargain! I think they may have gone up in price now?

The RRP is on the creep yes, but if you join their FB group (I know, you dont really do FB) they have daily offers where you can net pretty much any of their synth brushes for around £8 delivered, badgers for around £15 delivered.

I've bought 3 of their synths, two were perfect and one had a larger than ideal glue bump... After I had a moan to them I was given a full refund and offered 40% off my next purchase, cant really knock that.

The first batch of the Yaqis, I think, were lower knot quality because of the glue bump.

The knot itself was made initially I assume for make up purposes and it was very small. Then they began to make bigger knots for shaving brushes.

The only downside I found is that some handles are too heavy for face lathering and my hand gets tired after a while..

The prices have gone up slightly, but if you visit the AliExpress site regularly there's always one or two brushes at half price (not specifically marked!) for a day. I presume those are the same as the FB offers @Dr Watson mentioned. So if you're patient enough, you can make a bargain on your favorite brush.

I've had one problem with a brush so far; the boar bristle version (not currently on offer) kept shedding. I sent them a picture and immediately got a choice between a full refund or any replacement brush of my choosing.

Oh, and my last order took only five days to reach me, despite standard shipping. Usually it's around two weeks.

I think Yaqi was great at the very beginning about a year ago, before the hype.
They also happen to be the supplier of APshave co. (where it began I believe), Stirling, RR. Although value for the money has been really good, as they become more and more mainstream, I find the customer service so so and the prices have increased. Not sure that I would buy again.
And Chen is a lady (Grace Chen).

The Yaqi boar bristle is not very good quality for me, so I wouldn't risk it buying one. Semogue or Omega is my choice always.

The synthetic especially the tuxedo is the best knot for my face, but I agree that they increased the prices because probably of the big demand.

My thoughts are the their shipping is high because if you buy two brushes you will pay each one shipping separately.

No idea whether they combine shipping, probably not. However, their shipping fees are somehow justified by the tracking, the insurance and the celerity. In my experience, Yaqi brushes take 10 days to reach the capital of perfidious Albion.

Yes, indeed, good point. It's a very good strategy to stand out of the crowd. Moreover, that way, they give the impression they listen to their customer base.

Very true. Shipping is indeed combined. You are just charged the incremental cost (usually about 50% of the first brush) for any further purchases
