Sotd 6th of september 2021.

Preshave; a splash of cold water, followed with two drops of shaving oil.
TDS lilac bowl whipped, then applied with a rr400.
WSC/Yates with a Euromax platinum blade.
Cold water, and thereafter a pea sized drop of Stirling Bergamot Lavender balm.

Today I had a good shave, 2 passes. No injuries, no irritation. The result is adequate, thankfully I am never hunting for bbs. That's waaay too tiring for me. My wife does not complain anyway...

As for the soap, I like the soap. I do not like the lilac scent, but i do like the quality and slickness of the lather. This is the second TDS soap I do like.

The WSC/Yates razor is a winner for me. Regardless of the blade used, it performs well. I find it amazing that it is so efficient with a small blade gap. It has one drawback, it easily clogs when used with shaving oils. Then again, very few razors do not clog when used with oil.

A very close shave today with the B1, a fantastic bit of kit that still brings a massive smile to my face.
Today i detected a slight hint of lemon in the Cussons Lather, i cannot say i have had that before? A great lather all the same.
I did get a little indication from the Danum splash today, although, it calmed quickly.

Stay safe and enjoy your day All

Last couple of shaves with Stirling Hyper aggressive! Bit late to posting. First one was with one days growth, second with two!

Today's (or more like yesterday’s ) shave has been completed with this beautiful yet vicious razor. I think this is a first for me to actually consider whether razor isn’t too aggressive. Couple shaves with standard plate I have really enjoyed - yet this one is seriously bonkers! Definitely not a plate to use for daily shaves - would say 3 days of growth or more would be appropriate. Just look at this gap! I made sure my lather was on point and also used preshave cream … yet still got few weepers!

beauty and the beast in one! That’s for sure! Need to be as careful when putting it to face as when using a straight - wrong angle and straight away leaves a cut - experienced that today under the nose. But all in all good shave!

Finished off the OSP sandalwood cream that I won recently in a PIF. Amazing stuff - as much as I didn’t find it the easiest to face lather (bowl lathering definitely helped) - the post shave feel of it is insanely good! Hands down would be my favourite shaving cream. Scent is great too and paired lovely with Proraso red aftershave!

another go with hyper aggressive plate. This time gave it nearly two days just to see how it copes with more growth …. And it didn’t disappoint. First pass dfs , second bbs… even the trouble spot was clean. It is a beast! Riding the cap does make it milder and reduces the blade feel - but lift it up a bit and you get insanely efficient beast with plenty of blade feel - any not so smooth surfaces on the face will get removed. One nick but nothing as big as last time - nicked a spot. Few surface weepers that closed on their own by the end of pass.

This razor is definitely a keeper. Beauty and beast in one. Intimidating but definitely a good skill improver - otherwise you pay the toll of blood.

@The Gentleman - two shaves so far with it and as promised - here are two recent ones with HA! I've also had previously two shaves with standard plate - which in my opinion is a bit more aggressive than blackbird. I do love the HA plate but it'll be kept for 2+ days worth of growth. Overall it is a keeper for me. Mind you - I do enjoy aggressive razors and 'taming' them. I quite like the blade feel too!

Mon 6th September

Stirling Syn 26mm
MWF
ER Bathroom Set
Gem S/S ( 1 )
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

This format requires more concentration and care than AC/SE Razors, which in the main I find forgiving. The finish on the upper face was very good, but I did not work around parts of the neck quite hard enough. Will give it another go tomorrow.

I agree with your opinion. The standard plate is a good daily driver if you like aggressive razors and the HA is fun to use from time to time. Or if you haven't shaved for a few days. It's a keeper for me too :)

Preshave:
Hot water rinse
Brush: Vulfix Grosvenor 404 mixed
Razor: British Gillette Aluminium Handled Tech
Blade: Sainsbury's [Dorco] (26)
Soap/Cream: DR Harris Almond
Aftershave Balm: Bulldog Sensitive
Aftershave: M&S Woodspice Burgundy

A fine shave but with noticeably more tugging I think the blade's pretty much reached the end of its effective life. It's been an impressive run and the combo still delivered a near BBS, 8.5/10 result.

Have a good day.

Regards,
Chris
26 shaves on a Dorco blade? Wow. I've heard of ones getting big numbers from old Wilkinson's and maybe some others but not Dorco.
