Getting back to the thread. I had a Shave with the Evo today, and discovered that the Feather Pro a blade that I have not used much seems to tail off after 7 outings.
Good news for me, eventually I will get a Top cap that that will take Schick and Kai Blades.

After today’s Shave with a RR V3-A Plate / Kai Pink ( 5 ) which was so good,I have decided that one cannot truly evaluate the Claymore Evolution until such time as it is capable of taking the full range of AC blades.
I thought I had a good Shave yesterday with an Occams Oren/Kai Pink, but today the combo was so smooth and forgiving that it was an absolute pleasure to Shave with, and the finish one of those hard to describe ones.

I am quite prepared to wait for a revised EVO top cap, but in the meantime decided to try the second recommended Feather blade. I was lucky to have some Feather Proguards which I have used with success in other Razors.
When trying blades in a Razor for the first time I often use MWF as I know it produces a dependable lather.

From the off I knew this was a winner, as The Proguard was very effective in clearing stubble. In some Razors using this blade seems to slow down the Shave, but with the EVO I had no such problems. The finish was first class, and I actually enjoyed this Razor more with this blade more than the Feather Pro. The downside is of course the fact that The Progurds are much more costly.

PS Just made order from Japan, May have some to sell on at reasonable cost.

Hi Steve,
I have had a super second Shave with the Feather Proguard and indeed prefer it to The Feather Pro. The downside is that it is a relatively expensive blade in UK.If you manage to get the ECO to accommodate both Schick and Kai blades, you will IMHO have produced the best reasonably priced S/S Razor in the Marketplace ,and I have tried a few.

Has Anyone yet got a replacement head from either ES/ Alpha to replace the one that only takes Feather Blades.

I note that Alpha are currently selling them as taking both Schick and Kai blades.

I had an issue with a replacement cap but Steve has been a Gent. A new one is inbound that is Kai compatible. I'll let you know how I get on with it once in hand.

Steve made great effort to get me sorted with the Proline compatible head and having received mine I couldn't be happier. Great shaves the last couple mornings.

Took delivery of a new Claymore Evolution yesterday that takes Kai and Proline. After today‘s shave, I can confidently say that this razor handles the Kai mild better than any other AC razor I have tried. Initially I was a bit disappointed with the wiggle room in the head assembly, but the performance more than makes up for it.

Had my Claymore Evo a couple of months now. Haven't used it for a few weeks so thought I would give it a spin.
Really enjoyed the shave. Two days of fluff gone in a 2 pass shave. Loaded with a Feather Pro that I'd used 3 times before.
The one thing I really love about the Claymore Evo is the handle, just feels perfect sat in your hand. 👌

After a turbulent journey I now have a top cap that fits all the different blades. I'm glad Steve encouraged me to stick with it. I've since had a couple of great shaves with the Claymore Evo. The handle and balance work really well. It's also the right mix of smoothness and efficiency for me. Certainly a keeper. If the shaves continue in this way, I'll have no issues recommending this razor to others.
