Griff's

The French Griff's SE is an open comb foldable slanted razor with proprietary damast blade. As I have only one, NOS, blade, which is stuck snugly to it's fatfree paper, I will not be shaving with it.
Folding the razor in unclamps the blade so you can exchange it. Folding the razor into its usable shape clamps it down. What is then the handle is nicely serrated to provide more grip.
As you can see by the position of the holes in the blade and the guideposts on the razor, the blade is much narrower than the razor. No idea why, maybe so you can see the logo whilst shaving :)
This same modell razor was also produced as JAK.

Nice one. That looks great.
Thanks for sharing.
So, the blade sits diagonally in the holder, right?
Parallel with the teeth rather than square in the body? (If that makes sense).
Is an injector blade too narrow then?
It is hard to see the scale actually, isn't it?

Edit: Oh, I see that the sides of the blade are cut at an angle now.

Correct. The two points near the teeth on both ends of the razor go in the holes on the edges of the blade which you can just see through the paper.

Good point. Here's the packaged blade, the razor next to the head of a Merkur 36c for scale:

Got some NOS blades that were useable. Razor needs to be held very flat against the face, and does not handle too wel shaving upwards or away from the hand that holds it (ie right to left when using the right hand). Also, this carbon/damast-like blade is a hundred years old so tugs a bit. Nowhere near BBS, but will try again after using a period bladesharpener :)
