Firstly thanks to Tatara and @Masamune for this passaround.
There are times I wish I still had certain razors in a collection so I can compare to and this was certainly one.
I tried all combo’s except O/C and also with a longer handle I had.
I used to own a Nodachi and from memory this Titanium version is (obviously) very similar in feel. The Titanium Nodachi is just a fraction less aggressive from memory than the Stainless version.
The surprise was the Masamune, I’d never tried it before on believing it to be too mild. It’s far from it and perfect for me, the only negative being regrowth the next day is quite quick. I am going to acquire a Stainless one and just hope it’s the same.
I did feel the thread didn’t feel very smooth on screwing into either head, maybe a pre production one?

If you already like the Masamune, also try the OC, it is in my limited experience with some OC's the smoothest one, I liked it even better than the SB!

Did you try the Masamune with nodachi cap? For me in the stainless that kept the same feel but with a bump in efficiency.

Firstly a few comments about build quality and presentation...

The razor / components are well made and comparable with any other quality razor. I like the presentation in the cork box. The only thing that I would change is the caps. These to me really need to be labelled with the appropriate variant; even if it was just a M or N stamped inside.

As for testing the razor I used a Gillette Minora Stainless blade and Seaforth Heather soap throughout. Both are tried and tested

Masamune Base / Masamune Top

As noted previously by @Holyzeus this is a smooth and deceptively efficient combination. Despite my initial doubts it cleared 2 days of growth delivering a very decent DFS

Masamune Base / Nodachi Top

I must again concur, this time with @jphelan81, that this indeed offers a small step up in efficiency, but without sacrificing smoothness at all

Nodachi Base / Masamune Top

Similar to the previous combination in terms of efficiency, may just a shade more so, but definitely loses something in terms of smoothness compared to the previous combinations

OC Base / Masamune Top

I'm not a big fan of open combs, but this definitely didn't bite and was smooth and efficient

I didn't try the two more aggressive combinations available, but on balance I think I would be more than happy to use the Masamune Base / Nodachi Top combination on a regular basis. In all instances finding a good operating angle was straightforward.

Thanks to all involved for arranging this passaround
