Bowl, or Dish?

Hello chaps, hope you're all enjoying this muggy overcast day....well thats the weather in not so sunny London.

So i've been buying soaps without tubs of late like Halslinger and I wanted to get me something other than plastic or aluminum to house them in.

So to get my deciding juices flowing I was wondering what all of your favourite shaving bowls or dishes are, why you like um so or which would you recommend really. I've got a lather bowl and a scuttle so i'm more interested in something to keep my soap in with or without lid and to load from.
Do you look at practicality, design, shape, exclusivity or maybe is it the vintage that you look for and that attacks you?

Would also be good to hear what shape, size and designs you've found work best ceramic or wood and lidded or not.

Since the "Bug, Addiction, Hobby, Obsession, Enthusiasm, Compulsion, Infatuation," to name but a few adjectives . I have found myself looking in charity shops for dishes with lids.

I have managed to pick up some lovely pieces both wood and ceramic.
These are items I would never have given a second looking at three months ago. LOL

I will forward some pics as soon as I have a min.

I store my MWF in a miniature Dutch oven ceramic pot. I got it from the kitchenware department of a big supermarket. IIRC I paid 5 euros for it. I also have a glass dish with a lid that I got from a Flying Tiger shop for 2 euros but didn't have the chance to take pictures of it yet. Both where impulse buys when out shopping for other things so better keep an eye open when you go to the supermarkets and shopping malls.

Old spice mug with a lovely wood lid and l'occitane bowl are my favourites.

For me they have to be lidded and be a minimum of 4" diameter.

Charity shops, the one without the lid is akin to what you'd use to cook a Lasagne in or similar. I'm considering glueing some glass beads in the bottom & using it as a lathering bowl

I always have a gander at the flower pot section in Homebase or B&Q etc. Bought a couple of cheap pots, which work very well as lathering bowls and look great too.
