Surfing the Boker (Germany) site, I've falled in love with The Celebrated design.

Specially with the model Mother of Pearl 2.0 ... despite It's not MOP.

But I can't find experience on.
Can you share?

I have no experience using this particular lovely looking Boker model. I did buy a new production Boker razor several years ago and was well satisfied with it. I was particularly impressed with the factory edge, it being shave ready out of the box. Regarding the factory edge, I can't say if they are all like that or not.

Am I alone in thinking that the shape of the scales is not as elegant as it could be? They appear to have a spacer instead of wedge and the pivot end seems strangely truncated. I know it doesn’t detract from the razor but it’s enough to put me off buying one.

Agreed. I had a Celebrated Wenge but sold it on, in part because I did find the spacer made the scales feel blocky and at odds to the otherwise sexy blade shape It was a smashing razor otherwise, though.

I have a Böker Manufaktur different design (ypical stabilizer) and for me it's a keeper. Its wedge is slight, but it makes a big difference.

I have a MOP-shaped hole in my collection (and love that blade shape) so those photos are *really* tempting, but the spacer is probably enough to spare my wallet for now. Subject to whim or new information, of course.

If it is real MOP scales you are after and not the imitation variety currently available, I'd look for an older original Dovo Inox razor that had real one-piece MOP scales. Be forewarned, that the real MOP scales on the early Dovo Inox razors are relatively thick if the one I have is any example. They also tend to be very pricey if you can find one in excellent condition.

I believe the days of having single piece MOP scales are long gone - I assume due to over-fishing. I made scales in both black and white MOP but, as you can see from the photos, had to make liners and attach pieces.

Yes, the days of one-piece real MOP scales are likely gone as grounds have been closed to harvesting for a while now. Lovely looking segmented scales with liners, as you have made, are now the practice. This also allows for thinner pieces of real MOP to be used. This is also why I suggested searching out older razor models that originally had one-piece real MOP scales such as the Dovo Inox that today is still offered but with imitation MOP scales.
